Your bridesmaids are a very important part of the wedding party and you want to make sure they get a special gift. Jewelry is usually the gift of choice. Earrings if they have pierced ears and if they don’t you might want to go with the clip on or just give them a nice necklace. Most will wear this on the day of the wedding so you may want to make sure they match what they are going to be wearing in the wedding.
You will have several groomsmen and ushers in your party. People have given them something that men would enjoy. Nothing like the bridesmaids get. This is manlier like beer steins or something else that is manlier and can be used when you get together afterwards. Some have given gift cards for a nice dinner for them and their wives or girlfriends. While others stick to party type items like shot glasses, beer mugs, and such. You can ask your father for some ideas of what he did.
You may or may not have a flower girl or ring bearer, but if you do you can give them a savings bond or something else like this. They do not understand the full meaning of a gift and being in the wedding but in years to come you or their parents can explain what it was for. It will mean more to them at this time.
Your maid of honor and best man usually get a more expensive gift. This is up to you if you want to give them the same as the bridesmaids and groomsmen/ ushers or not. Some have given more elaborate gifts because your maid of honor and best man are usually lifelong friends or relatives. This makes it a bit more special to you and them and you will want to let them know how much it means to you to have them do it. Some say it’s not the price it’s the sentiment behind it. So make it special not about price.
Some bridesmaids and best men have even given a special necklace to the moms of the bride and groom. This is a special touch just for them. It makes them feel special on the day they feel they are losing their children to adult life.
Your wedding party rehearsal is where you and your wedding party have your own celebration dinner and it won’t be anything like the reception. This is where you want them to know how much it means to you that they are a part of your special day. In addition, thank them with a nice gift.
