Entrance to the palace is through a lion mouth with the paws aside. Though the lion’s mouth is not in vicinity, the paws are in existence. The remains from the gigantic lion built from bricks are truly striking.
There is a series of staircase that leads from the lion mouth which will take you through a journey of galleries of paintings and verses. The ancient paintings or frescos are mesmerizing. Also known as the ‘Sigiri Damsels’, for there were around 500 pictures of women. You are fortunate to have seen the remaining 22 which are in good state.

Once a royal palace is now in ruins, yet the layout and the design are still in vicinity which offers some spectacular sights.
