The answer is not entirely simple to explain, but once you grasp the concept, it should be fairly easy for you to put the idea into practice and start living better.
If your mind is free of tension, then your health will prosper.

So how do you free your mind of tension so that you can live a healthy and happy existence? The answer is not entirely simple to explain, but once you grasp the concept, it should be fairly easy for you to put the idea into practice and start living better. Not only will you feel better, you will actually be better, physically and mentally. Let us explore the ins and outs of this concept to truly understand how fitness, health and spirituality intertwine to create a well-rounded life. Let us explore each piece of the pie individually and then we will piece it all together.

Attaining physical fitness will absolutely help you live a healthier life.

This concept is certainly not a new one. Instead, it is ages old and ingrained in all Americans from the first days of elementary school, if not sooner. In fact, although you hated attending gym class in high school it was a necessity to graduate so you did it anyway. And sometimes you actually enjoyed it. Do you remember playing team sports when growing up? As you age you forget how great it feels to finish a football scrimmage or a soccer game with a sense of accomplishment, regardless of the winner. Even if your muscles ached, you had a ton of energy to finish your homework and visit with your friends because you exercised regularly. This regular exercise also helped you sleep through the night. You were lean and muscular when you were a kid and you generally felt good about life. You spent time outdoors, you were rarely sick and if suddenly your clothes didn’t fit it was because you grew three inches taller, not three inches wider. You exercised so, in turn, you were healthy.

Your health is your most important asset because without it you will have many problems.

That being said, keeping yourself in good health is probably the most important thing you can do in life. If you maintain good health, you can continue to do all the other things you enjoy and you can continue to handle all the responsibilities of your life, like caring for your family and being a good friend and neighbor. Keeping your body healthy is logical to most people. But many people don’t really entertain the idea of keeping your mind healthy, but this is also a very important aspect of overall health. In addition to exercising your body to remain fit, you should exercise your mind to keep it fit and healthy.

Spirituality is the third piece of the pie and is equally important to fitness and health.

It has been said that when you attain physical fitness and you pay attention to other aspects of your life to remain healthy, you can feel hollow without having the connection that comes from cultivating your spirituality. The sense that you belong to something bigger than yourself will not only keep your spirits high, but it will help provide meaning to your life, a meaning that is greater than just your regular every day responsibilities to family. Spirituality provides a purpose, and intertwining this purpose with good health and physical fitness gives you the whole package.
