E.ON is one the largest investor owned power and gas companies in the world. E.ON UK generates electricity for the UK's homes and businesses, retail power and gas to millions of people across the country. Like many companies E.ON is at the forefront of cutting its own carbon footprint by using CO2 cutting measures.
In this country E.ON operates a fleet of 4,100 cars and light commercial vehicles, and is among the leading providers of green power in the UK. 64% of its fleet vehicles are Fords, which have been used by E.ON for over 20 years.
Recently E.ON has taken delivery 340 new Ford Fiesta 1.6 litre TDCi ECOnetic hatchback models, which will be used by home energy advisors. The latest model of the Fiesta will replace the previous model in E.ON’s fleet. The Fiestas will be delivered with standard trim albeit with E.ON branding. Expect to see a small influx of used Ford Fiesta in Sussex as the old models are disposed of.
The new cars are expected to cover approximately 20,000 miles a year, used for business and private journeys. It is a good then that the Fiesta Edge ECOnetic does 78.5mpg on the combined cycle with CO2 emissions of just 95g/km, meaning it is exempt from road tax and the London Congestion Charge.
Nina Hughes the Fleet Development Manager of Business Services, said: "We have had good feedback from the drivers of our Ford Fiestas, and the lower CO2 emissions of the new Fiesta ECOnetic models will help us deliver on our lower emissions policy as well as providing reduced fuel consumption.”
