West Siang the administrative district of Arunachal Pradesh is bounded by China on the north side, east by East and Upper Siang, south by Lakhimpur district of Assam and towards west by Upper and Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. The district is bestowed with nature gift.

West Siang district is a homeland of Galo, Minyong, Bori, Bokar, Pailibo, Ramos, Membas & Khambas tribes. The district is full of wide rare species of colorful wild orchids, sundry flora and fauna, dark & opaque green forest, and an extensive series of climatic and geographical variations, the district enjoys a moderate and comfortable climate.
Due to mountainous terrain, the weather varies from place to place depending on the height and spread cannot do it. The year can be divided into four seasons. The winter season starts from December to February, pre-monsoon season from March to May, the southwest monsoon season from June to September and after the monsoon transition period during October and November. Let’s see some of the important tourist places to travel in India:-
Malinithan: Malinithan one of the most famous archaeological sites of Arunachal Pradesh or NEFA (as know earlier), is a high place of holiness, is the most ornamental and the sublime. Located on a hill about 60 meters high, overlooking the vast expanse of the Brahmaputra Valley, Malinithan is located near the border of Assam, Arunachal at a point in the plains and hills begin final. It is well linked by both road and rail ways to this holy place.
Still various tour packages in Goa are available but Like other important holy place of northeast this place is also important. According to legends it is said that Lord Sri Krishna and his consort Rukmini stopped here on their way to Dwaraka from Bhishmaknagar. They were warmly welcomed by Lord Siva and his consort Parvati (Durga) as their guest. Goddess Parvati welcomed Lord Sri Krishan and his consort with a beautiful flower with choicest flowers. Lord Krishna was greatly pleased by this and gave Goddess as Malini, mistress of the garden. Since the place called as Malinithan.
The place came to light only in the late 20th century. They found relics of stone images of Malinithan littered all over the mound. In the year 1968 to 1971 excavations was done over the place where archeologist found ruins of temples and valuable sculptures from this site. In the excavation archeologist found beautifully designed and decorated basement of a temple, divine images, icons of Hindu god and goddess, fine sculptures with animal motifs and floral designs, broken columns and panels with carvings, it something like dug out as if from a buried treasure.
Malinithan's fame is well known as a holy place in far flung place and it is still a place of worship, and draws a large number of visitors and pilgrims. A visit to this magnificent place is a must during your India tour when you plan to visit West Siang.
Akashiganga: On the way over Likabali, there is a sacred place, about 25 kilometers from the railway station in Assam Silapathar, hallowed as Akashiganga. The Akashiganga name is suggestive of a water channel on the hill. It is believed that the place which is associated with the legend told in the Kalika Purana (eighth century), when the corpse of Sati (Parvati) was cut to pieces by Vishnu with his album Siva's refusal to part with his , his head fell somewhere near Akashiganga. The place is, therefore, in high esteem as pithasthan where devout Hindus pilgrimage takes holy dip in a pool of water formed by the falls near. The place offers a magnificent panoramic view of the eyes of the Brahmaputra River, shining far below.
Gompa at Mechuka: The Gompa in Mechuka is one of the oldest monasteries called Samten Yongchen Mehayana located on a hill in the westernmost part of Mechuka, an important tourist attraction in the district of West Siang.
