Well, it is the first time that Russian-built Soyuz rocket took off from a Europe's spaceport, which mission was to send first two IOV (In-Orbit Validation) satellites for Europe's Galileo satellite navigation system.

As world news report says, Galileo is designed for civil purposes and aims to end Europe’s reliance on GPS and have commercial fee-based service for high-precision, definite signals for use in areas including mining, surveying and mapping, which GPS doesn’t offer. This latest news headlines report also says, Europe is now a step closer to having its own smart satellite navigation system which will bring more support and flexibleness that will bring more benefits to our economics and our daily lives. As said earlier, this established will generate 90 billion euros ($124 billion) over a period of 20 years. According to the World news report, the satellite launch was previously scheduled for Oct. 20 but it was delayed 24 hours for some technical problems. A spokesman at the European Space Agency said the satellites program is going to be operational which then will test the navigation system in space. As report says the successive launches are scheduled to complete the constellation of 30 satellites by 2019 which will come along with combined GPS and will possess the ability of signals in cities and offer better coverage at high latitudes particularly in northern Europe.
