The Time Machine of Mac OS X restores the lost files whenever a user requires. The function of this Mac tool is to create a periodical backup of the whole Mac system and also it maintains an updated copy of the critical files on the Mac hard drive or on the system itself. But sometimes, this utility of Mac OS X behaves abruptly and throws erroneous messages to the user. In brief, when a user creates a Time Machine backup connected to the external disk of the Mac system, the files get deleted automatically. While accessing the backup, the Time Machine utility throws error 109 suggesting that the disk image can not be accessed.
The main cause for the occurrence of this error in Mac OS X is the incompatibility of the AirPort Extreme with the Time Machine of the Mac OS X operating system. This error occurs only when a user tries to create the backup through the external disk or network connected to the AirPort Extreme which is not compatible with the Time Machine of Mac OS X. although, the AirPort Extreme seems to be working as a solution for Time Machine but really it is not supported. In this case, the network server is bound for using the AFP file sharing and both of the systems should be installed with Mac OS X 10.5.6 or any higher version.
Resolution:
In order to fix the problem, one can try to replace the disk of AirPort Extreme with the Time Capsule. Other than this, one should also try to rename the AirPort system with an in-convoluted name. After that, uncheck the backup data or lower battery power option in laptops. Now, one can establish another network connection and add the time machine device network interface to it.
However, due to this error, data gets deleted to lost. In order to recover files mac, you can use a proficient third party Mac file recovery application. This software is capable of recovering the lost files and can also restore it again. Hence, you can use this software to get your files back from Mac hard drive lost due to Time Machine failure.
