Every little scene, on an IMAX theatre seems larger than life. It’s commonly believed that images on an IMAX film appear 10 times larger than the ordinary 35mm screens. Thus, even though the screen’s larger than most movies screens, the quality remains crystal clear. Not to mention the state of the art digital sound.
Ever since the Lumière brothers invented the cinematograph, movie makers have always tried their best to invoke the wow factor among movie goers. IMAX takes this a step further. Doesn’t matter if you choose from a 2D or IMAX 3D, the movie is sure to be fun to watch. Movies made for an IMAX theatre are designed to transport you to the place, be it the rainforests of the Equador or to someplace in space.
People are so floored by the IMAX experience, that they do not mind paying more for a movie that they’ve already seen on conventional theatres. A recent survey revealed that almost 80% of people watch movie on IMAX, even if they’ve already seen it.
Everything about IMAX is awe inspiring big. Movies made for IMAX are known to use a 15,000 watt lamp with more than 150 IMAX films in distribution. A movie maker would need special IMAX cameras to shoot the movie, special projectors to showcase the film and an IMAX trained technician who can play it for you. In fact films made on IMAX are known to be so heavy that they are carried with special equipments.
Large screen became popular in the 50’s as people started to look for alternatives to the small screen. There were plenty of other companies that tried their best to satiate the needs of movie goers looking for the big screen. But nothing ever matched the IMAX. It is indeed the most spectacular, the most inspiring and the clearest of all movie going experience.
Movies made in the IMAX format have been super grossers in the box office. Imagine watching Harry Porter duel with Lord Voldermort or watching Matrix Reloaded on an IMAX screen.
Everything in IMAX is geared towards providing a great experience to movie buffs. They have now been spending to ascertain ways to increase user experience.
