Engineering courses are perhaps the most demanded streams in present day career choices. This is the reason why so many engineering colleges are opening up in the different parts of the country, allowing the aspiring students to pursue the engineering courses. Plethora of engineering colleges that are being opened both under the government and the private sectors are admitting students in large numbers.

Not only is the intake of students increasing, but also, the number of branches that are being added to the curriculum is also on the rise. Courses which were unheard of a few decades back, have now become the most demanded of the subjects. Few years back, the few branches of engineering that had been favoured by students were usually mechanical, electrical, civil, etc. But then, new courses were included in the curriculum and students took admissions in these courses, and passed out with a bright future on the cards.

To allow the students get into the colleges as per their interest, the concept of entrance exams in bachelor in engineering was introduced. Starting from the state and universities, these exams have now been included under the ambit of BE entrance exam, which is conducted by central body, to enable the introduction of uniformity in the admission process.

In the all India level, the most demanded entrance exam is the AIEEE or the All India Engineering Entrance Exam, which is conducted around the month of March every year. Recently, this exam has been modified to include two phases, the initial of which is screening and then the main exam. This is the pattern that the students should get familiar if they are intending to appear in the AIEEE 2012.

Till recently, the universities and engineering colleges were conducting their own entrance tests, either individually or under the banner of associations. It is now being contemplated to convert these tits and bits of exams into an umbrella entrance, through which, all the colleges will take in admissions.

This kind of a concept is being introduced to streamline the admission procedures as engineering studies are becoming the most demanded among so many professional courses. Students will also be benefited in the sense that they can appear in a single entrance exam, without having to go through the rigors of appearing in a dozen of tests, thus saving their time and ambiguity about the college in which to take the final admissions.

Also, the overlapping problem of the exam schedules would be done away with. Now, the BE entrance exam 2012, will be of a single window, through which students can easily find their college of preference, according to the ranks they secure in the entrance test. Apart from the number of students who have been appearing in the all India engineering entrance exam, many more are scheduled to take up the AIEEE 2012, thus increasing the competition. Thorough preparations and extensive knowledge of the topics in the syllabus will see the aspiring candidates, through these tests, and help them in achieving success in the exams, thus paving a way towards bright future in their careers.
