Shimla is another hill station which has architecture and ambience which lingers of echoes of British raj. Although ancient in looks Shimla has a youthful vigor in the way it works. Kasidhar and Kasol are important picnic spots. Shoja offers a breathtaking view of entire Kullu valley. Raisan is a good site for trekking. The town of Naggar which was the capital of erstwhile state of Kullu homes a number of historic monuments and temples.
Manali is distinctive than other major hill stations of India in that it has no colonial hangover. Cozy climate and fascinating setting are the attractions of Manali. It is situated forty kilometers north of Kullu. The landscape here is magnificent. On one side on can see well defined snow capped peaks, while river Beas with its clear water meanders through the town. On the other side are deodar and pine trees, tiny fields and fruit orchards.
Manali is well connected by road with Delhi, Ambala, Chandigarh, Dehhradun, Haridwar, Shimla Dharmasala and Chamba. It also offers opportunities for various adventure sports.
