There are fifty countries where people speak English as the official or primary language. It is the main language for studying any subject around the globe. English is important for all students as it assists in developing emotional skills, broadens their minds and improves the quality of life by providing job opportunities. Being able to understand English provides children with the power to succeed for the rest of their life.Early exposure to English helps to attain and cultivate a good command of the language. We live in a globalised 21stcentury; therefore, it is crucial and relevant to be able to communicate to people from various parts of the world.

As educators, we can be effective at teaching English in current times by explaining how to handle appropriate software tools to process information in a variety of forms. We must encourage our students to read deeply for meaning in multimedia forms such as text, audio, images, animations or video. Additionally, students should use practical and technical skills to communicate knowledge with multimedia.

Today, there are plenty of websites for teachers that can help us to create diverse and appropriate lessons that match our student’s needs. English teaching resources found online are useful and relevant as they make learning accessible to more people. This has been highlighted in recent years as teachers present their lessons both digitally and in printed form. Classroom resources found online provide a wide range of tools for all learning styles and they also help teachers to achieve new levels of productivity. They have the capability to cut down this workload significantly for teachers, thus, freeing up their time and allowing them to focus on more important aspects of their job, such as improving lesson content. According to research, 54% of teachers believe technology has allowed them to plan more varied and engaging lessons for their students. For these reasons, online platforms can be essential tools to help teach English effectively in the 21st century.
