Does Historical Desi TV Shows Standby The Subject

Many south Asian channels have witnessed a sharp rise of Indian historical shows grouped along with other TV programs. No doubt, the TV serials have done well in the Indian television but there are certain rising questions challenging the real background history to it.
"Shivaji" a story of the great Indian Maratha who fought against the Mughals with valor and pride, has become hero for millions of fans and on whom a serial titled "Veer Shivaji" is made by the Colors TV Channels. Similarly, serial on Chandragupta Maurya the founder of the Mauryan dynasty aired by Imagine TV has been perfectly made to enlighten the people's mind with history and the background of the king. But what is more to it that, are the serials based on the great warriors and rulers directly splice up to the true events or are they just commercialized for sake of entertainment. Well, as a writer and not as a historian, I am sometimes confused that whether the serials fall under the historical categories or are just shot wild introducing imaginary characters but keeping the real ones as a standby. I can't announce my verdict but yes if a historian is currently reading the article he could be able to answer my queries.

What, I have observed that the historical epics are somewhat made on the similar bases, just like other family dramas or TV programs. As the latter is mixed with backbiting by the villainous characters and someone is right on the top to dismantle the family ties, similarly the historical dramas showcase substance that represents the latter. The doubt raises due to its sharp turn away from history, frankly speaking the historical shows do not highlight the date and time of the period properly, which is my first doubt. Secondly, in every episode there is an entrance of an unknown character similar to other Desi TV programs. What I think, the makers of the TV serials have kept the basic concept in relation to the historical background, but just to make it lengthier they have started to use the same techniques as seen in other daily soaps. The regular viewing audiences are less interested in history and maybe for this reason they fail to understand the fact and fiction concept.

Whatever might be the reason, at the end of the day it is always the general audiences who get the betterment and enjoy various desi tv shows as a part of their entertainment. And as the grass is green on the other side, the producers are always selling high with handsome profits. But what is concerning is that the general audiences are pushed aside and are debarred from gaining the right education on history instead they are pushed into factious world.
