All marketers want to know the best way to make a sale. A long list of hungry leads is not going to be given away to anyone. The bottom line up front is it takes hard work or a lot of money to make a sale. Even if you paid a lot of money for advertising, product development, or a sales coach, hard work is still an ingredient to the recipe. There is testing and surveying.

You have to know your target audience. You have to have an open dialogue with them. Ask them about their wants and needs. Revolve your business around your consumers not your products. Socialize with your target audience. Connect with them. Really connect with them instead of sending a superficial poke on their Facebook.

You have to keep up with what is going on. No, you did not need to be in front of your computer 16 hours a day trying to get information from a former Bill Gate's employee. You do not need to learn the newest software codes for the most elite designs in the world. Just be aware of new companies in your industry. Stay privy to technology that can help you with your business. Consider the newest social networks and dive in before the herd of marketers beats you to it.

You do more preparing than you do pitching. You consistently distribute valuable information about your business to the masses. You also have to work on building a growing list. That is in addition to studying your industry just to keep up.

You can't let all of that work distract you from keeping your prospects engaged in your brand. There is much more to the marketing process. You have to find a way to get that customer committed to purchasing. The service you provide must be top quality so that they will return for your business.

Implementation is the bottom line. Application is the other bottom line. You must apply your marketing knowledge into your daily actions. You must implement the tools, resources, and technology to your advantage. Last but never least is action. Get into action. You did not learn to ride a bike or learn how to swim by meditating did you You got on the bike and you started pedaling. You got in the pool and gradually learned to swim or someone threw you in the deep end. Just don't ride your bike into the pool.
