Death of dignity is better than death of shame; drugs, an atrocious addiction

Drug addiction is an open invitation to death, a shameful death; that shatters not only the addict but also his loved ones. This fatal addiction makes man lose his fortitude and become too weak to take control of his life.
Drug addicts die without even realizing there life has come to an end. It’s an untimely and undeserved death. Drug detoxification is helpful process but in case where the addiction is severe; even they fail to help.

They say; death is unavoidable. True; every year millions of people die, leaving their families in tears. Tears of memories, love, compassion and loss; though sorrows are not to be compared, certainly death at the hands of drug is worse of them all, it is something similar to suicide. The only difference is that suicide is instant death, while drug is slow and gradual. It is hard to recover from such unfortunate but chosen death in a family.
Chosen; yes I call it chosen; for addiction is a thing you choose for yourself even after knowing how fatal it can be. A fable can explain: A boy, who was addicted of throwing pebbles in river, throws away the only gold coin he has, out of habit or addiction, and starves to death. Will not you call it a chosen death? For his indulgence in destructive activity was enough hint that he might end up suffering a major destruction himself.
Similarly; people try drugs in curiosity but end up becoming addicts. There body becomes a mere lump of flesh hanging on hollow bone structure of addiction. They become indecisive and before they realize their mistake they lose senses. Their dependence on drugs increase, they become too weak to realize anything.
Drug detox centers are helpful; they bring them back to senses by detoxification, but the reason why lot of addicts relapse; is that they become too weak mentally to react over things. They lose their will power and stability and it is very unfortunate to die like this. Families that have lost their beloved children and relatives because of drugs, remember them with pain.
Painful indeed it gets to see a potential sports person losing his fame and sport to drugs (Ben Johnsons, sprinter, Canada), an artist losing his focus to addiction (Drew Barrymore, Lindsay Lohan, Britney spears), a mother (Actress Anne Archer) losing her son and a father losing his family (Embryos of addict mothers can suffer the counter effect for their entire life).
Because those who chose drugs addiction over life are seen as losers in life, those who fight addiction and win over it become heroes. Ending may be unavoidable; it hasn’t had to be atrocious, and for something as wonderful as life; the ending shouldn’t be at all painful or torturous. Death of dignity is far better than death of shame.
