Dubrovnik is a historical city and people travel to Croatia to specially experience the beauty and architecture of this city. Known as the Pearl of the Adriatic Sea, this city is situated at the edge of the Adriatic Sea in the far south of the Croatia. Dubrovnik is rich in history, culture, known for there Bays and beaches.
Dubrovnik was really affected by the Balkan war and large parts of the town were damaged during the war. But now after renovation of the town and other war affected portions were reconstructed and rebuilt to its earlier glory. Now the city has regained its earlier position as a Croatia Tourism destination and acquires top positions in Croatia travel guide.
Whenever decided to travel Dubrovnik the normal route is like this: go from the coastal road from the split, which will take around 4 to 5 hours by car, this travel will also offer an amazing view on the coast and the Dalmatian islands. During the pass way you have to cross the Bosnia and Herzegovina which is about 60 km north of Dubrovnik. I would suggest you to keep your passport, do not bring any item which will bring you custom police trouble, and keep you car speed with in limits as precaution.
Dubrovnik comes under UNESCO World Heritage site regarded as on of the world most astounding city and a teat to eyes. This city is known for its galleries, museums and churches. Few museums I want to mention here is The Maritime Museum - Pomorski Muzej Dubrovnik : an aquarium of the Institute of biology, having variety of marine species including octopus and sharks. Parents with there children love to visit this place. Next is the Franciscan Monastery Museum which is an old pharmacy and also shows work of Dubrovnik artists, And also the Dominican Monastery Museum exhibits various old Dubrovnik paintings, sculptures, manuscripts and musical notes from the old times. Hundreds of people travel to Croatia every year to visit all these museums and botanical gardens and is a main source of Tourism in Croatia.

In February comes "Festival of St Blaise" in which people of Dubrovnik pay their respect to the saint who is "Dubrovnik's patron saint". In July, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival comes which includes theatre, opera, music and dance displaying Croatia culture and hospitality all along.
There is Maraton Ladja an annual race, Julian Rachlin & Friends "a festival of chamber music" and "International Festival of Jams & Marmalades" a Jam products exhibitions people love to visit every year. There are lots of other Festivals and events occurs throughout the year results in lots of tourists visiting this country and a major source of tourism in Croatia
Sir George Bernard Shaw was really amazed by the beauty of this city and said that "those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik and see Dubrovnik". So travel to Croatia to experience the heaven on earth.
