It is a fact that many women desire to have curvy waistlines. It is the reason why many of them wake up early in the morning everyday to hit the gym. Some swallow pills or use injections to reduce their body weight while others use natural supplements to help in weight management. These are all attempts to make the body appear more curvaceous and attractive.
These are all modern methods of weight loss. Studies have shown that at any one moment, about 50% of Women in America are practicing one form or another weight management technique. Most women desire to have that difficult to achieve hour glass figure. They are willing to undertake tough regimens and diet courses to ensure they achieve that perfect body.
This comes as no surprise however. Traditionally women have always desired to have well-rounded figures and body shapes. This is what led to the production of the first ever clothes meant to accentuate the body figure. Back in the day, they were known as stays and were meant to support the bust, confer the fashionable conical shape while drawing the shoulders backwards.
Tight lacing was unfamiliar in those days and was only indulged by audacious and fashionable ladies. Stays were common to women of all levels in the society.
They were later to be known as corsets- garments worn under normal clothing meant to mould the torso in to a desired shape for aesthetic appeal. Even though they came up in the 16th century, the basic design and make-up has remained the same.
Today, it is a form of lingerie that comes in various forms. It is worn on the body from the torso to the waist giving it a slimming effect.
Instead of other conventional slimming techniques, many women are embracing this garment to accentuate their figures. It normally pulls the waist in rendering the upper body and hips more noticeable and making the wearer have an alluring figure.
However you cannot wear this garment under any outfit. It is mostly worn underneath fashionable dinner dresses to accentuate the wearer’s body shape.
Other women will put on this apparel in order to feel spunky, sexy and enticing to their partners. This lingerie styled clothing is designed with fancy materials like lace, ribbons and other similar decorations to make it visually appealing.
Another variation of the apparel is basques. It is a type of bodice which extends past the waist line over the hips. It is also referred to as a torsolette. Typically, it has a decorative front or back lace detail with delicate patterns and little or no figure moulding construction.
Corsets and basques have undergone changes that make them not only slimming attire, but also sexy outfits. The newest models feature brassier cups and garters to add to their expression. These are secured with laces and have hook and eye fasteners with vertical seams for extra support. Some are designed with cut-outs that allow parts of the body to be visible.
