If you are thinking about traveling to Denmark, one of the greatest destinations you can visit is Copenhagen. One of the things that makes this such a great place to visit is the blend of city life amongst the historical intimate local setting. Since this area is the connection between the mainland of Europe and Scandanavia, there are many different cultures that exist here which adds a very intricate sense of intrigue. However, remember that if you do plan on visiting this area from the US, you will need to complete some US Passport Forms if you do not have an up to date passport in hand.
When preparing for your trip, if you do not have a passport, you can either use traditional delivery methods which can take up to 2 months, or you can use an online service. Online services are not only faster and stress free, but they offer many different types of services such as Passport Replacement and more. With online services you can choose to get your passport in as little as 24 hours!
Once you make it abroad and visit Copenhagen, you won't be sorry. There is much to do and it is advisable to create a list of things that you would like to accomplish so that you are left wishing you had done more with your trip. Copenhagen is divided into different district, each offering a bit of a different experience. Indre is the downtown area that is also known as Centrum or The Medieval City. This is the historical center. The Northern Suburbs is also an exciting location to check out, mainly because it not only hosts the world's largest open-air museum, but it is also home to the world's longest running theme park!
If you are looking for a relaxing early afternoon activity, you may want to consider taking a long walk down Stroget, which is the longest pedestrian street in the world. Whether you are visiting the many shops that line the street, you can find almost anything to keep you satisfied. Here, there are everything from large brand name stores to small local shops for you to browse in. Another great idea would be to take a bike ride over to one of the most popular destinations, The Little Mermaid statue. This Disney movie written by Hans Christian Andersen was immortalized in a fantastic sculpture and is a great place to start any site seeing trip.
In speaking of fantasy, Tivoli Gardens is another wonderful and exciting location. This is the theme park mentioned above and its decor focuses mostly on fantasy. Here you can wander through beautifully lit gardens or ride on exciting roller coasters. After this stop, make sure to swing by Amalienborg Palace. This is the home to the royal family and offers tours through some of the rooms and even a small museum. If museums are your thing, you can also swing by the National Museum which will show you all kinds of interesting things that focus on the history of Denmark.
