The UK has definitely experienced a roller coaster ride when it comes to the expected launch of the HTC EVO 3D. It was initially supposed to be launched by the network provider Vodafone last July of this year. On their website, the network provider announced that the smartphone will be coming soon. However, it has currently been removed from the website. According to the network operator Vodafone, it would no longer be launching the handset. It did not explain why it chose to do this. Many were frustrated by the news since the phone has already been launched in the US.
There were some who thought that it would never reach British shores. Thankfully, it has been confirmed that the mobile phone was arriving to the UK after all. However, it will be carried by the network operator. It will be launched by Carphone Warehouse this coming September. This delighted people who were interested in trying out a stereoscopic mobile phone.
There are a number of reasons why the handset is so interesting. First of all, it is among a few stereoscopic mobile phones. In Britain, only the LG Optimus 3D offered these capabilities. Secondly, it came with hardware that was similar to HTC's current flagship the Sensation. The HTC EVO 3D comes packed with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor with an integrated GPU for better graphics. It also came with a 4.3 inch 3D glasses-free LCD capacitive touch screen that offered stunning imagery for your viewing pleasure. Lastly, it comes with a number of features the Taiwan-based phone manufacturer is known for. It came with the Sense UI and HTC Watch that allowed users to watch movies on the go. Aside from Sony Ericsson, it was the only other Android manufacturer that offered movie streaming on the go.
Stereoscopic smartphones have definitely intrigued the consumer. It is still uncertain if the technology is the future of mobile. However, there are a number of phone manufacturers who believe this to be true. LG was the first to launch one in the UK with its Optimus 3D. Now, it has been reported that Brits will see the HTC EVO 3D in September. If you thought that there are only a pair of manufacturers who believe this to be true, Samsung is also rumored to create its own stereoscopic smartphone. It has been rumored to be working on the Samsung Galaxy 3D.
Regardless of whether the technology is the future of mobile or not, we're glad to announce that the launching of the HTC EVO 3D has now been confirmed on September.
