Today with changing times people are not satisfied with just the performance. They also want these performances to be backed by a good look or in other terms be better displayed. The display technologically is better defined as graphics. In today’s world graphics play a very important part in TVs, Movies and Video Games. All these business require high quality graphics cards. Some other business too are slowly developing a need for it. In a computer system the display part is taken care by the screen and the put it showcases is again taken care by the graphics card. Now the question arises that what is a graphics card, how it works or what is parallel processing and how it affects display technology. So the answer is that a graphics card or also called as video card is nothing but a printed circuit board which generates output images to a display using parallel processing to optimized the display quality.
So now you must know that if a question arises that what is a graphics card and what are it function? Then you must be knowledgeable enough to say that other then offering 2D / 3D graphics, MPEG-2 / MPEG-4 decoding, TV output and connecting multiple monitors, they are helpful for powerful PC games. While some require less complex ones, there are some which require complex and controlled systems. These video cards are assembled with motherboard or often attached to it with the help of expansion ports. Now the second related question which comes to the mind is that what is GPU?
So all those image building process which are done by graphics card is called GPU or graphics processing unit. GPUs are used in many systems namely personal computers, mobile phones, workstations and gaming systems. For a more common answer for the question that what is a GPU, it can be said it is very much like the computer CPU except for a difference that it is optimized for the mathematical operations. The need for this optimization depends mainly on the demands of the work. The most demanding graphics needs the most optimization. Some of the major brands providing the GPU services are AMD, Nvidia, Intel, SiS, PowerVR, Via, Matrox Graphics and many more.
In the current scenario a network administrators should posses a good understanding of memory cards. It not important if the category they are into directly fall into the graphics field or not. This knowledge would help them to purchase the suitable equipment for their networks. All this knowledge can also be get form the computer graphics tutorials. A computer graphics tutorial has category wise description of all the relevant information that is needed. Many such useful computer graphics tutorials are available on the internet.
