Your web browser stores everything on your computer when you explore the Internet and access Web pages, files, images and other downloaded content. These are known as temporary Internet files which occupy a lot of your computers hard drive and make the computer perform sluggishly. You should clear cache in a regular basis mainly for two reasons. This is to free up space on your PC and to save yourself from falling prey to cyber criminals.
A cookie is a file created by a web browser, at the request of a web site, which is stored on a computer. These files typically store user-specific information such as selections in a form, shopping cart contents, or authentication data. Browsers will normally clear cookies that reach a certain age, but clearing them manually may solve problems with web sites or your browser.
In order to speed up web browsing, web browsers are designed to download web pages and store them locally on your computer's hard drive in an area called "cache". How to clear internet cache? It seems like a difficult question. But actually, you can do it all by yourself.
The process of clearing cache differs from browser to browser. Generally speaking, look for an option to delete cache or temporary files in your browser's administrative settings.
Clear cache in internet explorer:
If you have the latest version of Internet Explorer, IE9, click the gear icon in the top right.
Go to Safety > Clear Browsing History.
Select "Delete Files."
Delete Temporary Internet Files.
In Internet Explorer 7 or 8:
Go to Tools > Internet Options.
On the General Tab under Browsing History, select "Delete Files."
Delete Temporary Internet Files.
Clear cache in Firefox:
Go to Tools > Clear Recent History or Clear Private Data.
Select only “cache.”
For “Time Range to Clear,” choose "Everything."
Select "Clear Now."
Clear cache in Chrome
Click on the Settings button in the top right of the browser. (It looks like a wrench).
Select Clear Browsing Data.
Select only "Empty the Cache."
In the dropdown that reads "Obliterate the following items from" select "the beginning of time."
Click the "Clear Browsing Data" button.
Clear cache in Safari
From the Safari menu, click Empty Cache.
When asked Are you sure you want to empty the cache, click Empty.
From the Safari menu, click Preferences.
From the Security dialog box, click Bookmarks.
Click Show Cookies.
From the Cookie dialog box, click to choose a cookie, and click Remove.
Alternatively, if you want to delete all cookies, click Remove All.
Remember, after clearing your cache in any browser, refresh the page you are viewing so your browser has a chance to grab the fresh files.
