This article covers the fact that the right choices of colors are many times not considered and how it affects different browsers to cope up with that color. Many times the Designers don’t take the colors they are choosing for the website into account, and many times they forget that the browsers only understand 256 colors.
The Real number for the web browser is not actually 256 colors but its only 216 colors. One might think negative about this, but it is true. Considering the fact that every browser does not share the same color palette and due to which the color codes are different for different browsers. After the careful study of the web designers it has been proved that only 216 colors are matching in different browsers, and that’s the reason choosing the color for the website should be amongst them.
The website colors should be chosen at the start of the website design, so that we can also avoid the chaotic results or something that’s not even visible. The results could turn into a plain website design or a very jazzy website even though there is no jazz on the business they are targeting. A very important factor here is to make sure that the background of the website or the color combination of the images should be chosen from the cross browser compatible colors.
It is very obvious that what if one goes out of these 216 color range. Well here an answer to that. If you go outside the 216 color pallet you are actually using the colors that are out of the range of browser which means that the browser has to do the color mixing. In order to reach to the color that has been used the browser will have to take the tiny dot of the color and try to reach to the matching or the approximate match of the same color. This process is called the dithering, this also means that the display will distort the tiny dots to the points where even the image gets speckled and do not look like a solid color. Moreover if this color is used for the text which is an image, it creates an adverse effect to the user, since the text becomes unreadable and has a dithered color. This would be the reason to choose one of those 216 colors for the website in order to get the perfect solid color result for the website in any browser.
Many Website Designers at php development company might know this already, but to those who don’t know this, it is highly advisable for you to start using it from today. Please let us know your take on this, we would love to hear from you.
