It’s not easy to find reliable NFL football picks these days. The so called ‘expert analysts’ on FOX, CBS, and ESPN continually pick the obvious odds-on-favorite in every match up. Bah! For quality point spread picks, check out Lock of the Day (LockoftheDay.com). This site is not new; they’ve been online since 2002. While most online football handicappers come & go, this site has been consistent throughout the years. If you wager on football like I do, you know that consistency is all you can ask for.
LockoftheDay keeps close tabs on every aspect involved in selecting winning NFL football picks / college football picks: relevant ATS trends, weather reports, the NFL injury report, situational underdogs, etc. Yes, LockoftheDay.com’s football picks feature plenty of underdogs, and that’s why I like ‘em. I’m not sure who is the best NFL handicapper, but LockoftheDay gets my recommendation.
As the preseason was underway, I had decided that this was the year I would purchase a season package from one particular NFL handicapper. I wanted solid information and opinions each week. From my own past experience, I’ve run into some cold droughts betting on football throughout the season. I figured that with my knowledge of the game, and an expert’s knowledge, I could avoid those losing streaks.
I researched a handful of football handicappers and decided to go with Lock of the Day. One reason, they kept a pretty decent tally of wins & losses. Most handicappers or online touts tell you they are 12-1 or 32-4 or they have a ridiculous 80% win percentage, or some crap like that. If you know math or basic probability, you realize those numbers are a complete falsehood. LockoftheDay.com keeps a running record of all wins & losses. I’ve seen them go on losing streaks, and I actually respect a handicapper more for revealing their losses, rather than lying about them. Lock of the Day was consistent all season long. They gave out 2-4 college football picks, and 3 to 5 weekly picks in the NFL football, including weekly Monday Night Football picks.
Each football selection is emailed out early in the week. This is good, because as we all know, lines move. LockoftheDay was spot on with line moves; often front-running major point spread moves. Nice! Getting +3.5 when most others have +3 is great! All selections come with a short write-up detailing reasons why that particular bet should come through. Some of the write-ups are very good, some I disagreed with. Either way, I was glad to have the information. As for the season, Lock of the Day started off hot, went .500 in the middle (broke even), and ended the season running very hot. I won a very nice sum of money betting football following those guys, so I can’t complain…now looking forward to football season!
