During that cycle, the right to develop sports was completely under our Chinese control. And there were large assembly of men of talents.
The third stage was a half-closed and self-developing state, which lasted from 1950 to 1974. Political factor was the one that had affected the situation. In this cycle, the Chinese basketball activity had gone through its time of prime. Numerous spheres about the basketball movement had under great advance, whether in the system or the practical level. The development from all arounds had proved the power of China.
The period from 1974 to 1994 was the forth stage for Chinese basketball activity. With the function of reform and opening policy, the road of the developing basketball had been broadened. In the phase various athletes bore in their minds the hope of revitalizing China by means of sports. While after the short improvement, the basketball movement has come into an embarrassing stage. The implementation of market economy had triggered the the alteration of basketball activity. In its shift to professionalism, the athletes seemed to lose the sense of responsibility and the enterprising spirit. China seemed to lose its power as the 90s did.
