The shrine of the Goddess opens up for visitors in the month of May every year when the holy festival named 'Akshaya Tritiya' is celebrated with great pomp and show. The shrine closes for tourists on the festival day of Deepavali.

Kedarnath devoted to Lord Shiva

The home to Lord Shiva, Kedarnath Dham is one of the 'Jotirlingas' of Lord Shiva. The shrine of Kedarnath is located at the head of Kandakini River. The temple of Lord Shiva is built with stone slabs of black color. The shrine of Kedarnath is also famous for several kunds like Shiv Kund, Hans Kund, Ret Kund, etc.

Badrinath devoted to Lord Vishnu

This is the fourth and final destination of Chardham yatra. The shrine of Badrinath is devoted to Lord Vishnu and is among the Hindu temples visited by hundreds of worshippers every year. The shrine of Badrinath is divided into three parts, Sabha Mandap, Darshan Mandap and Garbha Griha. The temple remains closed in winters and opens up in April.
