Once the planning for the weekend trip is done, the next thing you should do is pack your bag. Keep in mind that you are only going to be away for the weekend so don’t over pack like you’ll be away for months. There’s no need to bring an entire closet worth of clothes or ransack your pantry and fridge for food supply. Pack lightly. Here are a few tips that you must keep in mind.

Learn about your destination so you will get an idea of the things you must bring with you. If you’re heading to the beach for instance, bring flipflops instead of hiking boots.

Make the choosing already in your home so you just have to wear the shirts at the destination.
Don’t forget the undergarments. Never forget about the undergarments, no matter how occupied you are with choosing the best clothes to bring on your trip. Don’t over pack with your undergarments as well because you won’t be needing a lot. Plan your change of clothes and include the undies with it, too.
Bring travel size toiletries. When it comes to toiletries, do not bring large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Transfer them all to travel size bottles or vials. The contents will be good for a few days of use only. Your entire toiletries should fit in one vanity bag only.
Accessorize lightly. Plan your accessories around your planned outfits and choose those that you can wear over and over again. For instance, just bring one watch, one set of bangles, a pair of earrings, and a couple of rings. Choose the accessories that look good with any kind of outfit.
You don’t have to lug around heavy bags to fully enjoy a few days of relaxation. Learn to pack lightly. Also, learn how to budget money. This way you won’t get strapped for cash during your trip.
