Nevertheless, surf clothing like boardshorts have undergone constant makeovers to make our surfers look elegant while they glide through the surface of the lovely blue waters. With famous surf clothing brands like Quicksilver, Roxy, RVCA, FOX and Dakine, it is not surprising to see people drawn to the sport just to be able to wear these clothes. Apart from their functionalities like being light and durable in the water and the sun and provide ease of movement when on the board also having the capability to dry off quickly these boardshorts have also come a long way into being fashionable and compliments the overall personality.
In the earlier days there were only men boardshorts available in stores owing to the male dominance in the game but off late there are many women surfers who have come at par with the men surfers in flaunting their “seattitude”. Thus with the emergence of the fairer sex in the incredibly adventurous sport of surfing, there was bound to be the introduction of a women’s line of surf clothing in the market. When it comes to women manufacturers of clothing of all sorts have a wide spectrum of choices in terms of color, design, fabric and styles. The same holds true for surf clothing as well. Although boardshorts can be unisex there are certain custom designs that might compliment the long slender legs of a woman surfer. The length is shortened and the cuts put emphasis on a woman’s curves whilst giving the same functionalities of a typical boardshort.
Roxy was the first to venture into production of female boardshorts and surf clothes about a decade ago. With this a new line of svelte female surf clothes were introduced into the market that not only caught the eyes of the female surfers but of all every other female who thought it looked flattering enough to sport it on the beach. The modern voguish designs that could be either loud and funky or smooth and subtle attracted the eyes of a wider female consumer market.
Of course children are not left behind in the surf clothes market as well. Their surf clothes are given the same undue importance as the surf clothes for the grownups. They are all available in a vast variety of style, color and fabric and are mostly made up of nylon that has the drip-dry quality and longer shelf-life. In most cases, you see these clothing sport Hawaiian prints that goes efficiently well with the white sand beach and turquoise blue water background.
