Boarding schools for boys and girls provide a structure and learning environment that fosters excellent academic achievement, instills values that lead to positive character development. There is a vast difference between the student of boarding school and ordinary school. In boarding school the classes are of small size which enables the teacher to give sufficient attention to each student. Classroom settings are often specifically designed to encourage student participation and eye contact among everyone in class. The faculties have the advance degrees in the education. The facilities provided in the boarding school like library, theater are always superior as compared to ordinary school. The academic at boarding school is of high standard; students are made curious and tackle challenging problems.

The athletic and extracurricular activities are also encouraged widely and it also pushes the students to try new things. Many boarding schools also offer opportunities to study in different countries for a term. The concept of boarding school is not a new one. It was started about a thousand years ago in United Kingdom as recorded in the classical literature of the country. The people in UK have made it a practice to send their children to schools so that they will be able to learn together and also will learn to adjust with others. In the early medieval period in Europe, there was a practice of sending boys to the literate clergymen so that they can be taught, mostly in monasteries or in great households.

It’s true that it is very tough for the parents to admit their children to the boarding schools as the children have to do all their work on their own. It is also a fact that the children are well taught in boarding schools. They are made to do their work on their own and they become self dependent. Kids also learn to wash their clothes and keep the things neat and clean. The boarding school can also be a lot of fun as the child gets the opportunity to live with the group of the best friend.

The friendships that child make in this environment will be ones that will remember for life. At boarding school the child is exposed to broad cultures and individuals whereas ordinary school may give an exposer to narrower background of students. The boarding school due to its reputation and constructive learning system for both boys and girls has increased number of students who enroll in these schools.
