In today’s world we all need something to help us relax, and stay stress free. Binaural beats is music that helps with meditation and relaxation, using frequencies to alter the state of the brain to help you relax.
Binaural beats has been around for a long time, over 170 years to be exact. It was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove, but it never really took off. But in 1973 Gerald Oster published an article called “Auditory Beats in the Brain” in Scientific American. This opened the door for more scientific research on how frequencies can stimulate the brain to help with stress, anxiety, and all kinds of illnesses. With scientific research, it’s been known for a while now that certain frequencies will induce a desired state of mind. Bellow is a chart to help explain what frequencies will cause a desired state of mind.

Delta 1-3 Hz Deep sleep, lucid dreaming, increased immune functions
Theta 4-7 Hz Deep relaxation, meditation, increased memory, focus
Alpha 8-13Hz Light relaxation, learning, positive thinking
Beta 13-25 Hz Normal state of alertness, stress, anxiety

To help you understand how the above chart works, I will try to explain in plain simple English. Binaural beats uses two separate frequencies one in each ear. Hz in the above chart is the desired frequencies, or frequency = Hz. If you wanted to be in a meditation state you would want 4-7 Hz frequency, so you ask yourself how do I get this frequency? Well binaural beats has two separate frequencies one in each ear, so for an example if you want to tune your brain to a 7 Hz frequency, you could play 50 Hz in one ear, and 57 Hz in the other ear, then the brain will compensate for the difference between the two, which will create a third tone which is 7 Hz, in other word 50 minus 57 is 7. These beats are set to soft relaxing music, because human hearing can not hear frequencies that low, but the music is scientifically made to help you with what ever problems you may face like trouble sleeping, stress, anxiety, ect.

This music can be very relaxing, so to get the best results you need to find a quiet place with no distractions, and it is very important to use headphones, because you need to really concentrate. Don’t be alarmed if it don’t work the first time, because we are all wired differently, it may take a few times to really take effect. So find a quiet place and give yourself some alone time and enjoy. If you have any questions on binaural beats, on how it works, or if there are any side effects, see resource box.
