The new pulsar 250cc, planned to launch in November 2011, is expected to have a price in the range of 1.2 to 1.4 lakhs. It ensure with high performance at a lower price compared to other bikes in the power section. It will be compared with bike like Honda CBR 250 R, Kawasaki Ninja, and Yamaha Fazer 250 etc.</p> <p>The most attractive feature is the powerful machine engine with a power of 30BHP supported by the sophisticated high performance of the liquid cooled two cylinder MPFI equivalent petrol engine with four valves per cylinder, similar to pulsar 135 LS. 150 KMPH top speed is expected. Unlike the normal commuting bikes, the new pulsar 250 will have an all aluminum frame, which is usually seen in racing bikes. This means maximum safety for the rider along with the sheer pleasure of riding, perfectly designed for the roads in India. The sophisticated design supposed to have attractive features like fuel injection ignition, digital instrument console, ellipsoidal projector headlamp, high intensity LED tail lamp, disk brakes, aerodynamic styling etc. The over all length is 2035mm, overall height 1165 mm and width 750 mm. The fuel tank capacity is 15liter and the bike has a kick kerb weight of 150 kg. It has a 37 mm telescopic front suspension and Nitro X gas assisted mono shock rear suspension. Front brake disc is 260mm and rear brake disc is 230mm.</p> <p>There are four different types of pulsar 250 available with different capacity engines. The mileage and performance varies in each. The first type has a petrol engine of 135cc, 4 stroke, Single cylinder SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft), DTS-i (Digital twin spark ignition) with five speed manual transmission gear box. It produces 13.5PS of maximum power of 9000rpm and a torque of11.4 Nm at 7500 rpm resulting in great engine performance and acceleration. It can reach 60Kmph mark in just 6 second and can make it to reach the top speed of106 kmph. The second type is with 150cc petrol engine with other features the same. It has a mileage of 56.5kmpl in urban traffic and up to 65 kmpl in highways. The third variant has a 175 cc engine, more powerful and offers a mileage of 45kmpl in urban area and up to 52kmpl in highways. The most powerful variant of pulsar 250 is with 220 cc petrol engine though the mileage is lower than the rest. It has the mileage of 38kmpl and 47kmpl in urban and highway traffic respectively.
