Schedule the moment. If you haven’t noticed it the right time to take a photo of the baby is when she or he is not hungry or tired. Schedule the session just after feeding. One thing a photographer knows is how impossible it is to know the schedule of a baby and thus ready to wait for you to prepare the baby into that bundle of joy and into the sweet mood you want documented.
Don’t forget refreshment for the baby as well as for yourself. In case the baby is being nursed, find a comfortable place to do it. If the place is hardly adequate for this, come with your own bottle or make other ideal arrangements. If the baby is a little older, don’t forget to carry some light snack and drinks. You might as well get hungry or thirsty as the baby photo session takes place. It is not an easy task as such.
Be ready for some hard work. Keeping the baby tranquil and doing all you want them to do for a whole photo shoot is not that easy. You must be ready to go that extra mile to make ridiculous faces as well as embracing dances if the need be. Just be ready to be up and running, playing, singing some baby songs and other things all in trying to make the photo moment a success. However, the photographer will definitely take you through all this, alerting you when the baby requires your assistance.
The clothes the baby will wear is something that needs preparation. Make sure the baby has been bathed around an hour or two prior to the commencement of the photo shoot. Don’t forget to dress him or her in something easy to remove without much disturbance. In case you are looking forth to a naked baby photo session, for innocent baby images, make sure the clothing and diaper are left loose making no red marks.
You can get neutral colored types, you are assured of a clean photo, and rather simple, but ones with bright patterns come handy as well. In case you will be in the photo or anyone else, make sure their clothes are also neutral so that the focus can be on the baby and not on the clothes.
Arrive on time for the baby photo session for there is a lot to do and prepare.
