I’m not going to say which side of the fence I sit on as I will try to give a non bias overview of the latest crash test results for it. With its comprehensive list of crash safety equipment and driver aids the new BMW X3 has been awarded the maximum 5 stars at the latest round of Euro NCAP crash tests. The NCAP tests include a frontal collision, a side-on crash and a side impact against a steel post. Since 2009, the tests have also taken electrical safety features into consideration, alongside additional injury risks in a wide range of collisions. The BMW X33 in particular, received outstanding ratings for protection of children aged three years or 18 months in the relevant-sized child seats. Maximum points were also given at the side impact protection test.
