It has the famous baroque architecture which belonged to the 17th century and is even admired today. There are two twin towers in it having central domes. One of the reasons of its fame is that it has cota cero which is zero sea levels. It is the reference point for measuring heights of all towns and cities in Spain above sea level. The construction of Ayuntamiento is marvelous and it took many years. It started in 1701 and it got completed in 1780. The work was carried out according to the plans of Lorenzo Chapuli. A great thing about Ayuntamiento is that it is the city hall having a back door. That door opens up on the Plaza de la Santisima Faz. That place has a great collection of sculptures for public exhibition and a great reputation in the city for the same reasons. There are two towers in the Ayuntamiento. On the right tower there is a clock that displays the official time which increases the public importance of the building. This is a prominent building because it has proved itself very strong over the period of time. The building is owned by the Government because of which it is getting a special attention even in this era. There are free trips to this building arranged by the government whole day. There is a room in the building known as Salon Azul. In English it’s often called as the blue room. The location of Ayuntamiento is very simple as it’s located in front of famous Plaza de Ayuntamiento. There are public walkways in front of the building. Similarly there are some great restaurants near the building. Another great monument known as Plaza de Santa Faz is also at a walking distance from Ayuntamiento.
