No two consecutive days of the week do we have the same food or for that matter wear same clothes. Everyday, we wake up in the morning with the hope of doing something new. All this basically helps avoiding monotony from setting in and also boosts ones’ self confidence.
No two consecutive days of the week do we have the same food or for that matter wear same clothes. Everyday, we wake up in the morning with the hope of doing something new. All this basically helps avoiding monotony from setting in and also boosts ones’ self confidence.

Similarly, in our professional lives, we need to get rid of the stagnancy without letting it affect our ethics. Often, we have seen women lagging behind because they do only hard work and not smart work. And to be smart it is important to have that innovation in work too. Innovation, in business terms, can be defined as adapting, adjusting, or altering that which already exists for the purpose of adding value. Anything that is done continuously in a repeated manner will lead to a halt in your career too.

If you have studied Management, you will understand growth of a product in the market. It is gradual in the beginning and sharply increases in the middle of its life cycle before reaching its stagnant phase. Thus, when at work it is important to let out creativity. It will give a boost to your motivation. This atmosphere will also help you think of new ways of working and the refreshing attitude whether directly or indirectly will help other women too.

Creative ideas like these have led to positive changes in the lives of several people. With innovative suggestions coming up, one can now also get the underwater tanks cleaned with the help of robots. An IIM-A alumnus conceived the idea of a rickshaw that not only offers a smooth ride but also magazines, mobile charge cards, soft drinks and newspapers. This has helped the rickshaw pullers in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, UP, Delhi and MP save some earnings for investments. Similarly, there has been some progress in some 50 villages of Bihar with rice husk powered lights made available to the people.

We might, sometimes, need others’ help in bringing out breakthrough ideas. One could arrange for brainstorming sessions, group discussions or even debate. It may be conducted amongst the formal group amongst your peers/colleagues, sub-ordinates at your organization or with the informal group amongst your family members, relatives and friends at home. These brilliant exercises, which you wouldn’t realize in your mundane set of activities, might help in worming out creative ideas, suggestions, inputs etc.

However, it is very essential to understand that creativity is not a formula or a recipe to be followed. It is collaborative effort made by everyone in the office for improved performance of the organization. When these plans are implemented, they need to be also measured if they have been successful enough. One could also a set a back-up plan of actions if the first idea fails to achieve the targets.

One has to pace up with the changes in the world. Women need to keep up with the updated knowledge and technology. For instance in matters like that of computers and mobiles and even current affairs of the nation or the world. But before trying to implement innovation, one must know certain important things like there should be a shared vision, purpose or strategy amongst the people intending to implement new plans. They should have a long term view and think of changes as a positive. The premise of these ideas may be simpler but their potential impact is not simple. These ideas given by women can make greater impacts in their professional lives and help their organizations make breakthrough achievements.
