If you are eagerly awaiting the launch of a high performance version of the A1, like the S1, then there is an interim fix. Superchips – the well known ECU remapping company has devised a new ECU remap which boosts power in the standard Audi A1 1.4 TFSI. Even if you’re just after Audi deals then the Super chips remap could be of interest to you.
Many may wonder why it took Super Chips so long to come out with the ECU remap, but they had to closely examine the standard 1.4 TFSI model’s ECU. And now, finally they have been able to announce the launch of the performance boosting ECU remap. Remember, with any Super Chips ECU you are going to gain performance without losing fuel economy.
The new ECU Remap has been tested both in real world driving conditions and on Superchips' in-house chassis dynometer, The Audi A1 1.4 TFSI Sport ECU provides a maximum power boost of 26bhp at 6168rpm with increases from 2000rpm throughout the rev range, up to the 6500rpm rev limit.
Luckily we don’t have to just take Super Chips’ word for it, independent tests have been carried out on the modified ECU. Under test conditions the Audi A1's 0-60mph time is reduced from 8.9 seconds to 7.8 seconds. Fuel economy of the Audi A1 remains exactly the same as the standard model, with average fuel consumption remaining at 45mpg if driven in a 'like-for-like' manner with a standard Audi A1 1.4 TFSI.
What’s even more exciting is that the ECU Remap only costs £455, this includes fitting as it has to be installed and implemented by a fully trained and qualified technician.
