Electronic test instruments are used to create signals and capture responses from electronic devices under test to prove their proper operation or trace and repair faults, if any. Some of the most important and best test instruments that are widely used on a regular basis in various standard, everyday devices are air flow meters, moisture meters and HVAC tools (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning tools).
Air flow meters, also known as anemometers, are devices that measure the speed of the air flowing through a tube in a defined time segment. They are present in a spectrum of professional and recreational applications, from cars and industrial HVAC repair to hiking, camping and weather-monitoring devices. They offer air flow volume calculations for HVAC devices and are used in some cars to measure the quantity of air going to the engine. Mini air flow meters also monitor temperature, wind chill, altitude and pressure, making them a perfect choice for outdoor sporting activities.
Moisture meters are used to measure the percentage of water in a given substance. This information can be used to determine if the material is ready for use, unexpectedly wet or dry, or otherwise in need of further inspection. Moisture meters provide an efficient method for detecting hidden leaks and excess moisture that can be potentially damaging to your home or shop. The highly sensitive contact probes sniff out moisture in wood, concrete, plaster carpet and grain. LED or LCD displays indicate both relative and percentage moisture readings. Moisture meters prove to be very useful for new home inspections, locating roof leaks and selecting dry lumber.
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning repair technicians know the importance of professional HVAC equipment. Infrared thermometers, manometers and refrigerant leak detectors are among the most important HVAC tools. For small-scale repair jobs, HVAC components such as thermostats, transformers, switches and enclosures are used.
These and many other electronic test instruments are essential to perform work on electronics systems and offer a means to measure accuracy both in the field and around the home in areas like HVAC equipment, sports medicine, agriculture, weather analysis, building maintenance and much more.
