American Impressionism found the new way of art

The American Impressionism was not appreciated at first by the public, as history has seen any change has never been accepted easily. Let it be change in thinking, art or science, initially it has always been rejected due to fear.

During the second decade of the nineteenth century, American artist started painting Landscapes as their theme. They preferred it better than any other art subject. Thomas Cole played a major role in bring the landscape painting the popularity that it got then. During this period a new style of painting was evolved called the Impressionism. Radicals in this time, the early American Impressionism broke the rules of academic painting.
This style of painting characterized by its loose brush strokes and vivid colors was practiced widely among American artist during the nineteenth century. The characteristics of Impressionist paintings which was done by the American Impressionism include visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on light in its changing qualities which often accentuate the effect of the passage of light, Ordinary subject matter, including the movement as a crucial element of human perception, and last but not the least the unusual visual effect.
American Impressionism included selective view of America by the American Impressionists painter. Their painting emphasized the pleasantries of small town life and they usually omitted the blatant evidence of modernity in their paintings which included automobiles and telephone poles. The rural scenes a picturesque landscape was paramount and art subject for the American Impressionist artist.
The American Impressionism was not appreciated at first by the public, as history has seen any change has never been accepted easily. In the same manner the change in the style of art which was brought in by the open minded artist in the nineteenth century was not initially welcomed. But gradually the public were able to see that the impressionists had captured a fresh and original vision, even though the impressionist did not receive the approval of the art critics and establishments.
The American Impressionism is best described as a painting where by re-creating the sensation in the eye that views the subject, rather than recreating the subject, by adding multitude of techniques and forms, impressionism became a precursor to various impressionism movement in painting which were followed by Neo-Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism and Cubism.
