One of the biggest aspects of business is that of advertising. Companies spend billions on marketing for their companies and often see results within the next financial quarter. With the industry and the amounts of sales that advertising has generated I think it’s safe to say that advertising is second only to having a reliable product in importance for a business.
One of the biggest aspects of business is that of advertising. Companies spend billions on marketing for their companies and often see results within the next financial quarter. With the industry and the amounts of sales that advertising has generated I think it’s safe to say that advertising is second only to having a reliable product in importance for a business. It’s interesting to think then, that some companies or even peoples personal websites, have generated millions of sales simply by word of mouth, or by using small advertising schemes that are more accessible and realistic for smaller companies. But what are these types of advertising and how did they help some companies get ahead in their business?
One specific example I can think of was one of local companies advertising on their football teams shirts. Of course, we've all seen the higher ranking teams shirts, emblazoned with the logo of some airline or overseas company, and at times that’s worked wonders for them. The difference between the advertising options of big clubs and the advertising options of small clubs, because at higher levels its more about the money whereas at a local level, the focus is more on solidarity and that kind of message is a good one for a business to have, it may even help generate sales.
Another way for your company to get a good image and help create business would be through the sponsoring of charity events. While this advertising method may not give anything tangible back to the company, the boost in positive image will help your business to get noticed. There is also the potential for other, better known companies to help with the charity event, meaning that you may make an affiliate partner for the company's life.
One of the simplest and yet, most effective way to advertise your business is to create some cheap and useful merchandising that you can give out at said charity events, or to sell if your company begins to make a name for itself. I find these to be the most effective method of advertising for a small business to take because the customer will have something with your company's name on in their home or car. I know it’s not the most obvious, or the most brash source of advertising but with so many voices shouting for your attention, its nice to hear a whisper.
