When bulk e-mails are send, the SMTP server takes responsibility that the mails will be delivered to the destined addresses. But if there is an issue with the e-mail server SMTP, no mails will be delivered to the proper addresses. If the server fails to deliver the mails to proper destinations, a delivery failure message will be sent to the inbox of the sender, making the sender aware that the mail has not been delivered properly.
The most common reason for the failure of SMTP server is overloading. E-mail overloading reduces the working capability of an e-mail server SMTP. As a result, there are cases of server breakdowns. Many SMTP servers have marked domains to which mails are not sent and thus if there are addresses of such domains, mails are not delivered to those destinations. Failures of SMTP servers hamper business in a great way.
