Ack Ack continued racing into his five year old season finishing runner up at the Palos Verdes Handicap. His winning spree began soon after with the San Carlos Handicap, followed by the San Pasqual, San Antonio and the Santa Anita Handicap. Ack Ack romped the Hollywood Express Handicap, the American Handicap and the Hollywood Gold Cup. 1971, witnessed Ack Ack starting in 8 races, winning 7 of them and finishing all in the money. That year his annual earnings soared to $393,000. He was awarded by the Eclipse for three separate categories, the Champion Older Male Horse, Champion Sprint Horse and the Horse of the Year. Ack Ack was retired soon after his magnificent racing season to stud duty where he produced 40 successful stakes winners. His progeny includes Champagne Stakes winner, Joanies Chief; California Breeder’s Stakes Champion Filly, Rascal Lass; New York Breeder’s Futurity runner up, Sir Ack.
