Aluminium fabrication is a very popular method these days. In fact, no matter where you go and where you look at, you will find some products made of aluminium. All these products are the example of the aluminium fabrication. In fact, it is rightly called the wonder metal. Well, there are several features of the aluminium as a metal that makes it such a preferred one for experts. For example, this is a metal that is light, strong, flexible, corrosion resistant and conductive of heat and electricity. The metal is not affected by the magnetic powers as well. Naturally, aluminium fabrications can be used in areas where other products can’t be used.

However, there are some problems that the aluminium fabricators feel when they work with this metal. Well, the interesting part is that in most of the cases, it is the aforesaid features that cause the problems. For example, the metal transfers heat very quickly. This is why there is a greater chance of getting it burned during the fabrication process. Also, aluminium is very flexible causing other problems in the welding process as well. Therefore, even the most experienced aluminium fabricators find it difficult to work with aluminium. Definitely, they have to take up a different methodology for the aluminium welding and fabrication.

Basically, the fabrication of aluminium should take care of three important areas – the power sources, the set up and related methodologies and the ways to feed the aluminium wire. Well, each of the areas is very vast and complicated. Anyways, the set up and the related techniques is the first thing that the aluminium fabricators should be concerned with. This is the process that is followed in the steel welding as well. However, when it comes to the aluminium fabrication, there are some significant changes.

For example, the use of the helically wound up steel liner is not the ideal one for the aluminium fabrication. For, this would result in scratches on the soft aluminium wire creating shavings. Rather, you should use the liner made of nylon or Teflon. The wire guide too, is useful to minimize the shavings and frictions. When it comes to the drive roles, one must use the u shaped groove to eliminate the use of sharp edges that can shave the aluminium wire off. Make sure that the pressure on the rolls is not too intense as that can make the aluminium wire to crash.

The good aluminium fabricators will know that a greater hole is needed for aluminium welding as it expands more than steel. Also, the brake tension on the aluminium wire must be set loosely. Finally, you must keep the gun cable straight.
