XML, a short for Extensible Markup Language, is a format of documenting data such that the data is in a human readable format as well as machine readable format.

XML files are always preferred because of its simplicity and usability in the applications and over the internet for data exchange. Since the use of XML format files has become prominent in most applications over the web, there has been an increasing demand for XML editors that can provide an easy way to read XML files as well as help in the tedious task of generating XML data.
XML editors can be basically grouped into four types - Dedicated “Code View” XML Editors, Dedicated “WYSIWYG” XML Editors, XML Text Editors and XML Word Processors.
