A removal company may be in several related businesses. This is not a concern because if they are related businesses then they are not stretched over too many areas of business. When you consider the business a removal company is in which is the craft of household removals then you will understand why they may also have a storage unit location or self storage facilities or even a bulk storage facility. You will then realize a moving company can easily do business in all of those areas by simply moving house for customers.

Customers that require a removal company may also need temporary self storage for a short while. They may also need bulk storage for an entire load of household or office goods on a temporary basis while their new office or home is being remodeled. So if a removal company has an interest in these businesses it will help make a profit for them.

The problem for any company including a moving company is when they stretch out way beyond their known business. Then they may lose sight of business goal and the control of their main money maker, in this case, house removals.

What should be more of concern to a potential customer is how many years have they been in business under the same name in the same location. Do they have a physical location that you can go visit and do business with them at? Do they have their own property and moving vans? If all of these questions can be easily answered in a positive manner, then your household or office goods will most likely make it safe and sound to their new location.

Other questions to ask a moving company are things such as who their insurance company is and which insurance company will your goods be insured with during the move. Often the company may have a different insurance company for their business and the insurance of the customer’s goods. After all you are paying for this insurance coverage so you have the right to know this information. Then you can do your own checking on this insurance company if you feel the need to.

If you find out the answers to any of your questions or concerns before the move you will be a happier customer at the end of the move. If the company is reputable they will be willing to spend any time you need to answer your questions. That is how they stay in business. It is called customer service.

Generally a fly by night company or a rogue mover will not spend much time with you. They will figure you are asking too many questions and probably decide you are not their type of customer and may decline to give you a proposal for your move. They may not even in the end be the mover that actually moves your goods.

A reputable company will have no problems answering questions or providing you with information. You are their customer.
