For those looking to spend quality time together with your family and friends, Spontuneous is a great way to do so. This simple family board game has everyone in my family enthused. But for those who find it difficult to play, here’s a simplified version of how to play the game and optimize your fun. While its agreed that the game is very simple and hardly needs any help, but following these instructions ensures that you make the most of your game.
Spontuneous, as we all know, is a lyric-based board game every member of the family from 6- to 60-year-olds can get excited about. The game begins by players making a list of “trigger words.” These can be any words he or she chooses, but it’s helpful to pick ones that might be found in popular songs. A player then announces the word and the rest of the players must sing a song that contains these words. The first person who sings five of the triggers words is given the advantage of rolling the dice and proceeding through the Spontuneous game board to face the challenges. The first person to complete the challenge is the winner in the game. The trick here is to choose words that would baffle the other players. For example, if you’ve thought of the song “Take Me out to the Ball Game,” the obvious choice of trigger word would be “take,” right? But rather than choose ‘take’ as your trigger word, choose a word that isn’t commonly found in songs, yet repeats itself five times in the particular song. Also a song that’s been sung once cannot be sung again, so it’s important to choose trigger words with care.
Thanks to Spontuneous, the fun and laughter never stops in the house, and everyone feels involved and engrossed in the game. Songs from every generation and every genre can be sung and enjoyed. Rather than forcing “quality time” with family and children, board games like Spontuneous ensures that children get to enjoy time with their family and friends and with everyone in the house.
A family game like Spontuneous also allows you to get to know your children better and correct their behavioral patterns if required. For example, during a game a particular child may hold back and play conservatively, while the other plays a no-holds barred game. One might be a sore loser, while the other might be a little more receptive to defeat. There’s nothing better for knowing your children than a game of Spontuneous.
