Do you know a friend or family member that has to deal with persistent fears, anxieties, or even depression? It can be difficult to watch someone you know struggle with these mental health issues.

As a result, here are 7 tips on how to help someone with their mental health issues.

1.Get Help: The first thing you need to do is to get the person to seek the services of a professional who can lead them in the right direction and give them the help they need. A counselor will be able to provide much needed information on how to combat anxiety and fear.

2. Learn To Listen: Listen to what your friend has to say. Be understanding and patient with the person struggling with their fears. Dealing with depression and anxiety can be difficult for the person so do not add more problems than what is already there.

3. Educate Yourself: Learn as much as you can in managing anxiety and fear. There are many books and information that will educate you on how to deal with fear and anxiety. Share this information with the person who is struggling.

4. Join A Support Group: Encourage your friend to join a local support group that can help them overcome their fears. A person go to their local church, hospital or nonprofit agency to get a list of the mental health support groups in the area. A person can also talk to some of the local mental health professionals that can provide more information.

5. Take It One Step At A Time: Learn to take it one day at a time. Each day can provide us with different opportunities to learn new things and that includes learning how to deal with your problems. When the time comes, hopefully you will have learned the skills to deal with your situation.

6. Stay Positive: A person should keep a small notebook of positive statements that makes them feel good. Whenever they come across a positive and uplifting verse that makes them feel good, write it down in a small notebook. A person can then carry this notebook around in their pocket and whenever they feel anxious, they can read their notebook.

7. Don't Give Up: You never know when the answers you are looking for will come to your doorstep. We may be ninety-nine percent correct in predicting the future, but all it takes is for that one percent to make a world of difference. Don't give up when it comes to find the answers to your fears and anxieties.
