1. Safety Equipment – It is important to make sure that this has been installed and is in good working order. This includes things like a smoke alarm, home security system, and a carbon monoxide alarm among others.
2. Critique the home –It is important to put yourself in the shoes of the appraiser and look at your home critically. Begin to look for the kind of damage that could reduce the value of your home. Check for any loose boards on the floor, a leaking roof, gutters that are not working right and more. It is these things that will give the appraiser the view that you take proper care of the house.
3. Home Improvements – If you have made any home improvements in the past, it is a good idea to list them down showing what you took out and the additions or improvements made.
