3D televisions have lots of potentials but are still a long way to becoming mainstream. But with performance enhancements and updates being incorporated often by manufacturers and the fast decline of their market prices, 3D television sets are starting to gain a foothold in the consumer electronics market.
A 3D television is still priced exorbitantly. So before you rush to your nearest electronics store, take time to consider some useful tips to make sure that you get the most value out of your money.
Finding a Place for Your 3D Television:
3D television can best be enjoyed if it is placed in the right spot in your home. A dark room is preferable for you to have a better viewing experience. If the room where you plan to install your 3D television have windows, find some cover to darken the room during daytime.
Another thing to consider is the space between the television and you. For a 50-inch television, install the set about 8 feet away from you and 10 feet if you have a 60-inch television. Keep in mind that 3D televisions are designed to provide immersive viewing experience so the larger the screen is, the better your viewing experience.
Do not attempt to buy a 3D television without measuring the space where you intend to place the set. This is a common mistake by consumers which often result to returning the item because it does not fit in the wall space, the TV stand or entertainment center. Such a waste of time and effort! When measuring the space, give leeway of at least an inch or 2 on all sides and a few inches behind the television set. This is to ensure easy installation, adequate ventilation and extra space for installation of any audio and/or video connections.
Gear Requirement:
If you want to fully experience and enjoy 3D viewing, get yourself some glasses that you can use to watch 3D. But the catch is, these glasses are not the cheap paper type that you can get from cereal boxes or from buying promotional meals from fast-food stores.
You have choices of passive polarized or active shutter glasses. Passive polarized glasses are inexpensive compared with active shutter glasses. Furthermore, active shutter glasses require batteries to operate as well as a transmitter that will synch it with 3D images. The type of glasses you will use will depend on the 3D television you buy, whether plasma, liquid crystal display (LCD) or digital light processing (DLP). Active shutter glasses are commonly used with 3D DLP and plasma while LCD televisions can use either active shutter or passive polarized glasses.
How to be a Smart Buyer:
Set your budget before you buy 3D Televisions. When setting your budget, take into consideration the costs of 3D glasses, home theater receivers, Blu-Ray Disc player and cables that you may need chrome://informenter/skin/marker.pngfor connection. You can save a lot of money if you take advantage of special promotions and sales.
