When looking at handsets such as these it is easy to get weighed down by the 3D elements that are on offer. Look beyond this however and you have two very capable, very powerful smartphones which are very equally matched with the LG Optimus 3D just edging ahead thanks to its excellent design and internal storage capacity.

We have seem many new features introduced on mobile phones over the years. There was a time when digital still cameras were first introduced on just a few model and they are now common place. MP3 facilities were unheard of at one time and now regarded as a basic feature. For 2011 there seems to be a new feature finding its way onto up and coming handsets which is 3D. This is following in the footsteps of the home entertainment market where 3D is now widely available on both televisions and DVD players. Of these models there seems to be two handsets that are leading the way which are the LG Optimus 3D and the HTC Evo 3D.
In terms of physical size there is very little to choose between these two exciting new models. In order for the devices 3D features to be effective a large screen is necessary thus both models sport a 4.3 inch display with the HTC model just edging ahead thanks to its high resolution of 540 x 960 compared to the 480 x 800 that the LG model offers. There is just two grammes weight difference between the models and no more than 3mm difference in size in any direction. Suffice to say that choosing between these handsets on size alone would be a very hard task thus we will have to look a little deeper to find a major difference between the two phones. One area where there is a noticeable difference is when it come to the processor chips. Despite both models offering dual core properties which makes them both excellent for multi tasking, the Evo 3D offers a 1.2Ghz chip rather than 1Ghz found on the Optimus 3D. This certainly does not mean the LG handset is a slouch, far from it. The Cortex A9 chip it uses is very impressive but it does not however match up the excellent Snapdragon unit fitted inside the HTC.
The modern mobile phone requires large storage capacity thanks to the multitude of files that many users store on their handsets and the LG Optimus 3D pips the Evo 3D to the post by offering a massive 8GB of storage compared to the 1GB or 4GB that is available on the HTC model. The tables are turned when it comes to RAM memory which effects how fast the handset operates. In this instance the Evo offers a substantial 1GB whereas you can expect around half of that figure for the LG handset. When you consider all of these figures I think it is fair to say that both models are fairly equally matched. This theme of equality runs through many aspects of the models with specification being very similar if not identical in many areas. Both phones offer a high quality still camera capable of capturing three dimensional images thanks to the dual lenses that they both sport. This means images taken in this manner offer a resolution of approximately 2 million pixels whilst 2D photographs see that number more than double to 5 million.
