Some people spend countless hours in the gym everyday and pump the iron till they pass out but still don’t get the results that they desire. There is a common misconception amongst the beginners that in order to gain muscles, they need to do as much weight training as possible. Below are some useful tips that can help you get the kind of muscular physique that you always wanted.
Go heavy or go home.
One of the biggest factors that you need to keep in mind in order to stimulate muscle growth is that you need to train until failure and overload the muscles with heavy weights. Without this, your body does not have any reason to convert the extra calories that you are taking in to lean muscle mass. Majority of your workout routine should comprise of compound movements because multiple muscles are used in such exercises so you can lift heavier weights.
Increase your carb intake.
You should not be afraid of increasing your carbohydrate intake during the bulking phase because they act as fuel for the body and provide it the energy required for building muscles and performing high intensity workouts. In order to avoid the conversion of extra carb intake in to body fat, you should eat most of your carbs right before and immediately after your workouts because this is the time when body needs a lot of energy and carbs are least likely to be converted in to body fat. The best sources of carbs include brown rice, oatmeal, sweet potatoes and whole wheat bread.
Get adequate sleep.
Sleep is very essential for getting proper muscle development because that is when your body grows and your hormonal levels are optimized. Not getting enough sleep causes the body to go in to catabolic state and you start losing muscle mass which is exactly the opposite of what you are looking for.
