Recent floods in Thailand have not only disturbed the infrastructural facilities
|
Recent floods in Thailand have not only disturbed the infrastructural facilities of Thailand but has also resulted in disturbing the future planning of various leading industries. Japanese car manufacturing company Honda Motors which was going to launch the facelift version of New Honda City during the third week of November in Indian car market is reported to have postponed the launch as an impact of these floods in Thailand. Honda Motors has its major production unit located in Thailand and these floods have interrupted the supply of components to production unit and therefore Honda is now speculating to launch Honda City India during the Auto Expo Show to be held in January 2012 at New Delhi. At present in Indian market varies from Rs 7,49,000 to Rs 9,89,100 depending upon the variant desired by the customer. However it is speculated the Honda City price for facelift variant may be slightly higher than the existing model of Honda City India in Indian car market. Earlier when New Honda City was expected to be launched in third week of November Honda Motors has announced heavy discount on the existing model of Honda City in Indian car market.
Coming towards the Honda City review experts are of view that New Honda City will have not major cosmetic changes except few changes that will give Honda City India a new look. Honda City review infers that there would slight changes in front lamps, grille followed minor enhancement in tail lamps. However the most notable feature which is reported to be found in the facelift version is presence of ECO indicator located at instrument panel and is used for indicating the petrol level when it reaches to the lowest limit. Besides these changes nothing much has been so far revealed by the company. At present the existing variant of Honda City is equipped with 1.5 li-VTEC petrol engine supported by 5 speed manual gearbox generating the power of 118 PS. With this the existing Honda City is blessed with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) technology that results in giving an average of 14 kmpl in the city area and 17 kmpl while running on highways.
The floods in Thailand have also delayed the launch of Honda CR-V a SUV designed for American Car market. Besides this these floods have also hindered the production of Honda Brio and Honda Jazz from Honda Siel due to shortage of supply from Thailand to their manufacturing units.
