Up until October 2006, there were approximately 70 different pieces of legislation relating to fire safety in the UK. The release of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO) in England and Wales, repealed all previous Fire Safety legislation and was a much needed consolidation and long awaited revision of these previous laws.
